We Reached the Goal + Our First Stretch Reward Announcement
GOOOOOALLLLL! We’ve officially reached 100% of our original goal. Now for the big announcement...
HUGE NEWS!
First off, we did it! The first goal of this years’ Kickstarter has been CRUSHED thanks to all of you. Three full days is all it took to pass the biggest goal we’ve ever set. For comparison, we’ve already passed the entire amount raised through the 2019 campaign... in the first weekend. That’s incredible and such a great way to kick off the Five Year Anniversary celebrations.
So now it’s time for some news. As always, we have stretch goals and rewards planned and to kick it all off we are thrilled to announce that for the first time, the first stretch reward is an ENTIRELY NEW, UNANNOUNCED 2020 PRODUCTION. That’s right, we are going to make an entire special project for 2020 that has previously been completely under wraps.
What is it? As we’ve been saying, the “On the Trail of...” brand is going to continue to expand, and the first way we’re going to do that (once we’ve released On the Trail of UFOs) is a special feature length “special event” titled On the Trail of the Lake Michigan Mothman.
This will be a feature-length, investigative look into the phenomenon of the Chicago or Lake Michigan Mothman featuring investigators Tobias and Emily Wayland. The goal with this project is to take you deep into the ongoing investigations of a winged creature being seen around the Lake Michigan area.
This episode will be shot and directed by Seth Breedlove. To make this project happen we must reach the new stretch goal of $70,000. Once that happens, ALL BACKERS will receive On the Trail of the Lake Michigan Mothman as a downloadable digital copy.
We are really excited about having the opportunity to use the Kickstarter to fund a surprise production and we hope you’ll see the potential here, as well.
Again, thanks so much for being involved in this years campaign! It’s truly amazing how supportive you all continue to be.
Learn the terrifying, true story about thirteen months that changed history! In November of 1966 a car full of kids encountered a creature unlike anything they'd ever seen before. In the weeks and months to follow, the monster (now known as The Mothman) was sighted again and again on country roads and around the state of West Virginia. As the sightings continued so did an increase in unusual activity.
At the center of this bizarre series of events was the town of Point Pleasant, WV. A small burb situated on the banks of the Ohio river with a lengthy history of what many might call bad luck. Over the next thirteen months Point Pleasant would undergo one of the strangest outbreaks of paranormal activity the world has ever seen. An outbreak that eventually ended in tragedy.
The Mothman of Point Pleasant is the fourth documentary from Small Town Monsters exploring bizarre creature sightings around the U.S. and their impact on rural communities. The film is narrated by Lyle Blackburn and written, produced and directed by Seth Breedlove. It was shot by Zac Palmisano and featured a musical score by Brandon Dalo, as well as animated sequences by Chris Scalf and illustrations by Matt Harris and Brandon Scalf.
Film runtime: 70 minutes. DVD includes bonus features including a behind-the-scenes documentary.
Illinois is known for it’s miles of prairie, and for being a state rich in history… but what if that rich history isn’t quite what you’ve been told? In this new film, from award-winning production company, Small Town Monsters, and director, Seth Breedlove, explore hundreds of years of terrifying reports of encounters with massive, winged creatures around the “land of Lincoln”. From Alton’s man-eating Piasa Bird legends to recent sightings in Chicago of a creature said to resemble Point Pleasant, West Virginia’s infamous “Mothman”, Terror in the Skies unlocks a centuries-old mystery.
Journey to the heartland of the midwest in this new documentary which offers a startling, in-depth look at an ongoing phenomenon. The feature-length film was shot around the state of Illinois in September and acts as much as a guide to the constantly changing terrain of the land as it does an introduction to a reality-altering subject. Breedlove contacted numerous witnesses and investigators who claim to have seen massive beings in the sky as recently as last year. One of the most recent, and popular stories to hit major media in recent years has been an ongoing wave of sightings of a red-eyed, shapeless creature dubbed, the “Chicago Mothman”; an event which is also covered in great detail in this film.
Terror in the Skies is narrated by author, musician and television personality, Lyle Blackburn. It is co-written by Seth Breedlove and Mark Matzke, with cinematography by Zac Palmisano, an original score by Brandon Dalo, and sound design by Jason Utes. SRV Films and Santino Vitale are handling VFX and the film contains original illustrations by Matt Harris and Brian Serway. The film is produced by Seth and Adrienne Breedlove. Authors, Loren Coleman and Troy Taylor are featured alongside numerous others.
